My first job was a job at Dairy Queen. Other than eating the candy bits, I did fine and followed orders but I did not fit in with the social scene so the manager didn't give me hours being three days of work. She told me to call for more hours and every time I called, she told me to call back. So I stopped calling and I guess I got fired for that.
I have been fired from a few sites since working security. The first one was because I was a female. I found out from a friend that worked in management in the company, I wasn't supposed to know so I never said anything. The property manager told my manager to "fire all of the women", so my Site Supervisor got the pink slip too.
Next I worked at a medical center. I was given verbal orders, nothing written. The best way I can put my duties was ridiculous. The manager basically had me do everything that she didn't want to do and I angered a lot of people. I was removed because I "smoked too much". But I'm not stupid. I got a lot of complaints for carrying out my duties and the property manager wanted to cover her ass. She has since been fired.
The last place that I worked I was removed because of new management thinking that I wasn't smiley enough.
Most guards get moved from site to site every few months, though, until finding a post that agrees with them. I'm not blacklisted or anything in my company, I'm actually one of the better workers, so it's not a big deal. Security guards have to deal with a lot of politics sometimes. It sounds weird but... you know =/
