I think that today's women and the women from the last century have plenty of things in common. The only difference now is that women are given a platform to speak and be listened to, instead of being shunned or ignored. Same thing, different era... with minor adjustments.
That's true, women who talked the way they do today about wanting to sleep around were less respected once before, so many of them adjusted their behavior to be less promiscuous so society wouldn't shun them.
