Drinking is fine (if you're legal) once in a while, but smoking and drinking will never help you deal with how you feel. Those things are meant to do exactly the opposite- hence the overly relaxed, numb state of mind. You can't feel better if you're not really feeing much at all.
The first thing you should do, is find some things you can get better at, that you like to do. Pick up a couple of hobbies. It'll feel strange at first, you'll feel like you can't do it, but that's okay. As long as you push through that feeling, you'll start getting the hang of it.
The second thing you should do, is find like-minded people. People who share these interests with you. It's a mistake to try to fit into a group of people that you have nothing in common with, it's why you started feeling low in church.
The third thing will come naturally. You'll find jobs in what you're doing simply because you already have friends who like what you do and want to help you do it.
I'll tell you right now though, if you try to find something with the state of mind that you'll get rich, you won't love doing it- and if you don't love doing it, you won't get rich. That kind of stuff is for sons and daughters of already rich people and for people who just get plain lucky- which you should never count on.
Have I lost soul?
