Has this site always been like this?

It used to be much better :(

It used to be a lot better. There have been regulars in the member chat that nobody seems to use anymore. Most of the cool members have abandoned the site :'(

Like Dirtybirdy said, it used to be better and like Charlie.M said there were pervs in the past to a degree. Now I've noticed that the site gets better and worse in waves. Right now we seem to be in a Troll/Perv high wave. It will probably calm down to a decent degree for a while and then another big wave will hit back and fourth. At least, that's what it seems like to me!

I'm also a newcomer and I like what I see so far.

When I first made an account I didn't notice it as much. There were people who you got used to reading their comments and posts and without knowing their face or name, they grew on you. I started an account because of the regulars on this site.

I remember this site's golden age. You came at the wrong time, kid.

I'm a 4 year veteran. Some excellent contributors are no longer with us. Dappled, TommyTheCat, CountessDouche and Nobody13 have all left the site. Things got rowdy with the Dead Sailor 2016 campaign about 8 months ago, but with theGypsySailor gone, a vacuum descended on IIN. Mostly perverts have filled the space since then. Two very genuine people are left thankfully, RoseIsabella, and VirgilManly. Controversial contributors like Crusades, Steve2.0, and green_boogers could show high intelligence on occasion but mostly enjoyed being assholes. They're gone as well; some users think they are still lurking.

And so history churns on. "We didn't start the fire, but it's always burning since the world's been turning."

I've only been here a short while, so I can't really say that it's always been this way. But I can say that it's always been this way during the short time I've been here - LOL! Trolls gonna troll, what can you do but ignore them?

Tbh I don't even bother clicking on the incest-y/pedo-y type stories that are blatantly trolling

Then some things are just so ridiculous in a "who thought this up?" kinda way, I actually have to wonder if it's really a troll or genuine truth. Mindfuck.

Well I have noticed that the more bizarre and trolling posts usually have a lot of traffic from people who registered with only minutes of history in their account. I can only assume that the same person who made the original post made up a number of profiles and is answering their own post to artificially boost the traffic and sucker in a real member.

If a post appears genuine, I give a genuine answer, if I can. if it is a troll post, I usually give it what it deserves, a troll answer.

I get a chuckle out of their posts to be honest. People comment some really funny stuff to the troll post and it cracks me up. I say just skip over those if you don't want to read them. What I do is comment jokes to the trolls and serious replies to topics I actually think are real.
