"Harassment" covers a wide range of activities, some of which are definitely considered a crime. Even if what you did isn't severe enough to be considered criminal, scapegoating someone is never a positive way to deal with a problem.
It is unfortunately pretty common for people who are miserable to resent those who seem to be happy, and to want them to be miserable too. So what you did is pretty "normal" in that sense, but it's not healthy, since it doesn't address the problems that made you unhappy in the first place.
What you did isn't good, but it is good that you seem to have some gained some insight into why you did it, and to now understand it wasn't right.
