Half black but looks white

I am black, but I look white. My father is 100% black, and my mother is english-dutch blonde/blue. Yes, I know he is my biological father. He is on my birth certificate, and the custody judge actually ordered a DNA test when he saw how light I am. I am literally as light as Kirsten Stewart, and I have blue eyes. I was born with very dark red hair, and now it is strawberry-blonde. I have freckles, and no one on my moms side does, and I am not irish. I am the whitest person I've ever met. I know this isn't normal- but does anyone know anyone else like this? When I was little i had fraternal twin babysitters whose mom was black and dad was white. One was mocha-colored and the other looked like blonde barbie. FYI, I don't have any full siblings, so everyone else in my family is either 100% black or all white. IIN? Help

My two boys are half black, half white. My oldest son is a bit darker than a lot of mixed kids, brown eyes, jet black hair. However, my youngest son looks completely white, he looks just like me very white skin, blue eyes, and light brown hair. This is not common for mixed kids, but it does happen. You never know what genetics are going to do, especially when bi-racial.

  • Normal. My grandma was Brazilian and my dad is completely pale-white whilst his brothers are tanned as are my cousins. As for me I'm pale skinned and so is my brother.

Genetics are just funny but at least it doesn't define who you are as a person :)

Thats really interesting, but genetics are strange like that. Ive never met anyone who was bi-racial and looked 100% white. Usually the darker skin colored race is more prominant. But if you marry a white man & have children they could come out really dark. They'll wonder (just like you) what the hell is goin on. lol. :)

Genetics are very unpredictable. There is certainly nothing abnormal about it, just rare. You got lucky, run with it.

I'm the same. Even though my mom is mixed Arabian and Sudanese(African) and my dad is almost completely African(He has ancestors that are Arab and White), I came out looking 100% white. I'm not even half white and its hard to tell that I'm mixed. My moms that same though but she half and she looks 100% white.

I just came across your post and happy I did. I actually have two daughters. Their dad is black and I am half puerto rican and half european. Our oldest has dark brown kinky tight curly hair, brown eyes, and has a tan complexion. Our youngest has thick curly blonde hair which was platinum almost when she was born and has darkened up some, blue eyes, and looks white. So as for you being normal, yes you are very normal. It's also great when no one can tell what race you are.

    Hi there,
I just wanted to say that genetics are completely unpredictable. I myself am bi-racial. My mother is Native American (but has green eyes), my father is Western European (typical blonde, blue eyed). I look white except for the fact my eyes have heterochromia iridum. (Fancy way for saying two different colors.) The fact is that there is no real "racial purity" Many people who are black in the U.s. have a lot of white European ancestory and vise versa. I was chastised all the time as a kid when I would say I am American Indian because ignorant people said I was too "white" to be native. (I do speak the dialect, and was raised in the culture), but many of the tribal members are the result of "freedmen" and native inter-marriage. (Freedmen meaning escape and freed slaves.) So, when I'm compared with these other tribal members of course I look white. I'm guessing it's the same for you. You should watch a movie called "skin". It's based on a true story of a South African (white) couple who had children classified as black. We are all only testament to the fact there is no "Race" but the human race, and any allusion to anything other than cultural ties should be abolished. You are not only normal, but beautiful. I hope this helps: )

Dude, once upon a time there were no blonde hair and blue eyes but out of nowhere, in the midst of genetic mutation due to lacking of mates and incestual nature, Albinos were formed which eventually adapted its defects to be able to survive. I'm sure your not that odd.

yah duh it is. It probably means somewhere along the line your dad must have acquired white genes. I'm of mixed race too. My mom is black but like her great great grandfather was scottich. And my dad is white. So, somehow I came out with tan skin, but a light tan. And all my other siblings are a much darker tan.
or maybe you are part albino idk. But like BlackRose said, skin color isn't what's most important in a person, it's the person in the skin.

It's perfectly possible. Dark skin genes are more dominant but that doesn't mean you can't avoid them completely. They are still inside you so as the first person said, it's possible that when you have children, even with a very white person, the dark color will finally poke its head into existance.

Also, can't imagine all the jokes your poor dad endured with such a light skinned kid.
