I feel you on that one, I'm a half Colombian/half Anglo-Saxon, and the the thing is my ex had a lot of exes who were half Hispanic. Now in retrospect I can't help, but wonder if he had some stupid fetish.
I think it's relatively normal for people to have a type or a rather a preference, but I don't want to be just a type that someone wants to date based only on looks. I do think there are plenty of American guys who have the whole Asian girl preference, and my hope is that it's about more than just looks or a type. If you think someone is interested in you for just your exotic good looks, and doesn't really give you the thoughtful attention you deserve then by all means don't waste your time on such a shallow person. People are not objects!
