I generally need intelligence as a prerequisite. Most of my friends want someone less intelligent than them so they can somehow dominate them or feel superior. And then all they do is moan about lack of intelligence in their partners. As for power, I'm not too bothered either way. I went out with someone who was slightly famous (it ended because she was way older than me, not because she was famous). It was never an issue, though. Actually, quite the opposite because she was famous for something I'd love to believe I'm good at. And she thought I was good at it.
It's fantastic that we can finally talk about successful women and the issues that may arise from that. It's been a long time coming.
Guys: Are you put off by really smart or powerful women??

ROFL. That sounds like one of my old coworkers.
He was attracted to "blond bombshells" with no brains. He married one even. Then he whined about how she was clingy and needed his support...
After his divorce we saw a picture of his new girlfriend... blond bombshell, no brains, bit on the trashy side.
