Hehe, thick. I can only guess what it means outside the UK, but here "thick" is a synonym for what other people would call retarded. Or here, not necessarily retarded but more like:
One sandwich short of a picnic

A bit pat and mick (which manages to insult the Irish at the same time as being rhyming slang)
lol, I forgot my favourite one. When I was a kid, my dad used to say, "You're as thick as two short planks" or - when he'd lost his rag - "thick as pigshit". The plank one got shortened by my generation until we just referred to each other as planks for having done something stupid.

In America I believe 'thick' suggests a mid-weight very curvy woman.:)
