  • It isn't a matter of being willing to pull the trigger. Real life isn't a old western where 2 people draw, only one can get off a shot and the other drops instantly. Even if you are willing to fire, and even if you manage to hit your target, there is still a very good chance you will get shot if the other person has a gun. If you cooperate the person is less likely to fire so you are less likely to get shot. This is a big part of why studies have shown gun owners are 4 to 5 times more likely to be shot. If a street mugging where the their is likely to have his gun drawn, odds are you will never have a chance to pull it in the first place.

    And when I say let the police sort it out, I am not at all concerned with how successful they are. Things can be replaced. My life can not. So I am going to cooperate and live.
