    We have enough laws in place now. Enforce the ones we have. Start treating the mentally ill instead of hiding it.

        How about getting the politicians to stop trying to put their name on a bill so they can make a mark on history, and make them do their jobs. Approve responsible budgets on time. Stop them from one working one month a year and getting a full years pay and benefits. Spend the money you save on more police and better training in non-violent resolution. Punish departments that feel the need to spend their surplus budget on military tanks. That's just a start.

        How can you help. Don't just listen to what your told. Read, research, check your sources. And when your done with the research actually get involved. Write your Congressman and Senators, and more importantly your local politicians.

        No, Fox news is not a reliable source. In fact most news stations aren't reliable. They all want you to stay tuned so they will find the best dirt to show you. "These kids saw their class mates gunned down and here's footage of them crying. Stay tuned and we will show the blurred images of the dead bodies."

          👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I always ask young people what we as a nation can do to prevent more of these bad things from happening and most of the time I get the responce,” why does it matter what I do, I can’t change it by myself, so why should I try/care” as they slowly become the bystander who watches the world burn. If more peope called in to their local congressman, people might do their job and things might get done.

          I’ve stopped watching the news altogether... I follow stations on social media so I do know when things happen but after that I do the research to get a more factual information and less opinionated drama.

            I know it doesn't seem like it but local legislators are often more important than their federal counterparts. It's good to see some still try to influence the people who rule our world.

            I watch the local news only to get the weather. Don't watch the network news.

              You could just grow up in the Midwest and come to understand when mother nature is about to screw you over; that works too. That said, i think you're the most politically observant person i've heard.
