  • Btw, Canadian snipers have made 3 of the top 4 shots in history. http://www.wideopenspaces.com/7-longest-sniper-shots-time-pics/

    • Canadians hold #2 and #3 longest confirmed kills. On your list they held #3 and #4. Sorry I don't count unknown soldiers. Also on your list the US holds two. One was the all time best sniper for 35 years, Gunnery Sergeant Carlos Hathcock. AKA White Feather. 93 confirmed kills, one at 2,286 m (2,500 yd). The UK holds the record for the longest kill by Craig Harrison at 2,475 m (2,707 yd).

      • Whatever. I'm with you - holding a firearm sideways is an insult to the second amendment.

          • Nope. I grew up 120 km on the American side. I always vacation in Canada; have friends there, and am glad to not pay high tax rates like they do.

      • I always admired Simo Hayha, the Finnish sniper who killed 505 Russians, "Probably more" in less than 100 days during the winter war of 1939-40. And this in subzero temperatures at a time when there was about 7 hours of daylight. And he only used iron sights so the glare of the snow off the scope would not give away his position. The Russians put a big price on his head but never got him, although he did get his jaw about shot off. Look him up if you haven't heard of him. The "White Death". The Finns are some tough customers. They're the only country that the Russians could not vanquish after WW2. Only 3 million people at the time but the mighty red army gave up trying. They would die to the last man, woman and child before they would give up to communism.
