Gun problems are basically because Americans are so bad at marksmanship. In Canada you get ONE hunting rifle, bolt action, 5 shot magazine. If you miss, tough shit. The Polar Bear eats you. Guess what? Canadians always hit their target on the first shot.
Kim Jon Un wouldn't last very long on our continent north of the border.
Not all in the US are bad shots just the majority. Some of the best snipers and sharpshooters are from the US. The problem is most people never get to even touch a gun until they have to use one to defend themselves. Most only know what they see on TV. Every time I see someone holding a gun sideways I want to scream.
Nonsense. Millions of expert shots in the U.S. Far more than in Canada. You've been watching too much television. Only ghetto rats hold a gun sideways.
I agree. But their are a lot more people in the US than there is in Canada. I don't really watch TV. I have actually seen a guy hold a gun sideways, against multiple suggestions against it, and he ended up burning his arm.
That's pretty much what I meant. Way more people and a much larger military. I'm sure most Canadians are great shots. And like you said, out of necessity. No room for error when your survival's at stake. So going by ratio and not sheer numbers, your probably correct now that I think about it.
Canadians hold #2 and #3 longest confirmed kills. On your list they held #3 and #4. Sorry I don't count unknown soldiers. Also on your list the US holds two. One was the all time best sniper for 35 years, Gunnery Sergeant Carlos Hathcock. AKA White Feather. 93 confirmed kills, one at 2,286 m (2,500 yd). The UK holds the record for the longest kill by Craig Harrison at 2,475 m (2,707 yd).
I always admired Simo Hayha, the Finnish sniper who killed 505 Russians, "Probably more" in less than 100 days during the winter war of 1939-40. And this in subzero temperatures at a time when there was about 7 hours of daylight. And he only used iron sights so the glare of the snow off the scope would not give away his position. The Russians put a big price on his head but never got him, although he did get his jaw about shot off. Look him up if you haven't heard of him. The "White Death". The Finns are some tough customers. They're the only country that the Russians could not vanquish after WW2. Only 3 million people at the time but the mighty red army gave up trying. They would die to the last man, woman and child before they would give up to communism.
Gun ban, yes or no?

Whatever. I'm with you - holding a firearm sideways is an insult to the second amendment.

Nope. I grew up 120 km on the American side. I always vacation in Canada; have friends there, and am glad to not pay high tax rates like they do.
