Guinea pigs
A partner and I did a wrong doing and I figured what better place to rant about life's woes than on a website I can't be traced back on? Our "wrong doing" apparently was by becoming the owners of Guinea pigs. 4 of them to be exact. I suppose that I am the owner of them really, as I bought them. I take care of them but my partner takes care of them (sometimes) as well. He got the most of the blame when our landlord decided to take back a statement he made earlier on his policy to do with pets. He said that he was ok with dogs but didn't want for us to have Guinea pigs in the house and essentially he evicted us. I'm just wondering what the heck is every landlords problem with Guinea pigs for pets being kept indoors? I am only doing what I can to do right by the Guinea pigs. They are fragile animals and for them to expect that we keep guinea pigs outside is dangerous and would be a careless thing to do. Why the stigma around Guinea pigs? I've been looking for a new place to rent and mostly everyone says " no pets". The ones that do have specific rules and basically they would rather a cat or dog over guinea pigs! Guinea pigs arent as loud as a dog. They dont just wander everywhere like a cat might do. They only have problems with thinking they are smelly and unhygienic. I don't know of what type of people that they had in there before to make them think that, if that's the case. Guinea pigs are clean animals and it's entirely up to the owner's care and responsibility to keep their cages clean. And I clean ours frequently and there is no smells or cockroaches . I guess I just wanted a place to rant in peace over how unfair it is for our last landlord to say pets are ok and then he took back his statement and now we have nowhere to go. We just live at family members house.
