Goddamn eye floaters.

As I type this in... They are floating EVERYWHERE! In my peripheral vision. Scientific explanation anyone?

I get these little floating lights in my periferial sometimes. They are caused by dehydration, stress, and/or some kind of vitamin defucancy.

You should see an optometrist immediately. Floaters can be a sign of many eye diseases and/or conditions (I just saw my optometrist for floaters and I have "early retinal detachment, which can lead to blindness in only a few years.) Plus, you can get a prescription for eyeglasses or contacts, which pretty much everyone needs, considering perfect vision is exceedingly rare. Even though you think your eyesight is perfect or adequate, everyone should see an optometrist once a year for glaucoma and vision checks. Your vision insurance should cover it. Call your insurance company (located on the front or back of your insurance card) for more information on which optometrists you can see in your network.

I thought this was just me until I saw that episode of Family Guy where they make fun of it. Of course I ask my friend if this ever happens to him. Being the perfect dumbass dousche, he said no, and then proceeded to tell me that I was going crazy. Then I told the jackass to suck my dick.

They're inside your eyeballs and most commonly are caused by "debris" that floats in your vitreous humor.

They may annoy you at times - well if you're staring at a pale background. I see them most clearly when I stare at a pale blue sky.

However they don't do anything else. Mine fade away when I look at darker things with varied colors - like looking at trees instead of just the sky.

They are structures inside your eye. It is normal to have them and to see them under certain lighting conditions but you shouldn't see so many you are having issues. You get more of them with age but you shouldn't see a sudden increase in them. If you are having a problem I suggest you see an ophthalmologist.

Note: An ophthalmologist is NOT an optometrist. See here for the difference: http://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=22559

Allergies? Pollen can get into your eyes and irritate them sometimes causing what I think are your "floaters." If you're talking about ghost images or double vision that's an entirely different issue and could be caused from any number of things from cataracts to stroke.
