I own a couple and I love to go out shooting but I still can't fathom how it is seen as sexy. I see them as dangerous weapons that require strict adherence to safety procedures. Whenever I see someone with their finger in the trigger guard when they're not taking a shot, not properly clearing a gun when they're handling it or having the safety off when they're not even firing I will just about lose my goddam mind.
I am such a huge asshole when it comes to gun safety that I probably take all of the sex appeal out of it.

i were taught to never rely or even pay mind to safeties
the guns either loaded and ready to shoot or its clear and safe
if im a chasin bambi ill chamber a round but not cam the bolt over which works fine for me as a safety but i knows combat ops is different and trigger & muzzle discipline becomes real strict

I was ('til age took the eyesight) a competitive pistol shooter, so it was natural to introduce my bride-to-be to handle firearms. By the time we married she got more x's than I (x is the little circle in the center of the 10 ring).
She was deadly with a revolver or .380 but didn't have the strength to rack the slide on the .45. And for a little humor, she had plenty of strength to rack the slide on my zipper. Boy do I miss her.Comment Hidden ( show ) -
