Well I prefer guys doing that. Sorry but I find that to be a major pussy-whipped guy if he won't even ask me something. Though as a female, it would feel nice asking someone out.
Knowing me and I'm socially awkward, I'd probably say something like, "Want to go out sometime? So-and so's going blah blah blah..." it's good to be a challenge, so I'd offer. If he says yes I'd be with some of my friends, and eventually we'd get closer until he asks me out on a one-on-one date. If he doesn't ask, I'll assume he's not interested and well move on.
Now I could tell if he's interested but too scared to ask, in which case I'd openly ask, "Wanna go on a fuckin' date already?" if he says no then he's either odd or seriously not interested, if he said yes I'd call him a pussy and tell him to hurry up.
It sucks when you like someone and you're not sure if they like you back - especially if THEY'RE not sure they like you back.
Then you're both confuckeled on what to do, but too scared to do anything.
