It doesn't really matter, but it does have more effect if he is bigger. Though because he can go deeper, and you can feel it more in your stomach...etc. But, than again if he is average than that is fine to. My average size is about 8' bigger than 9' can cause some serious damage. So sometimes smaller isn't such a bad idea.
