I'm not a girl but I can tell you the more you stand behind it - if it's a problem for you or not - the more people won't care. It's same with any other problem: if you give them targets to shoot at they'll most likely do it - especially if they don't know you very well and if they see the need to diss someone to feel superior.
If you feel like you need to get rid of them then do it. If it's a result of weight problems you can do sports and change your diet, if it's a hormone problem you can see an endocrinologist and a surgeon. Man boobs isn't a rare problem. Many feel ashamed of it and remove it sooner or later when they can't cope with this condition.

Here is the deal, women are evolutionarly less attracted because fitter and leaner body without the fat that composes man boobs. A lot of them will no admit it because they don't want to seem shallow, but all else equal, it will be a net negaitve for MOST women. It is not like now you have no chance or something, but if it hurts your confidence, it could have nore negative ramifications. If you want to put in the effort and lose the fat, people do pay me to do that!
