Perhaps it's the 'woe is me' attitude? Or thinking that you're 'better' than someone else just because you feel you're less of a jerk than them? Or waiting around for soemone to realize how much of a 'non-jerk' you are, when perhaps you're not?
Don't read me wrong, I like you. I'm not trying to insult you at all. It's just, I have a friend who thinks he's this super nice guy, and has horrible luck with women. TBH, it has nothing to do with him not being a
'jerk', it's that he harps on it and tries to use it as an advantage, and fact is, he IS a jerk in a lot of ways. Plus he's not very good looking, so that doesn't help.
Oh, I totally agree that self pity is as bad as jerkishness. That is why I confine my self pity to the internet, and I tend to shut up about it in the real world. Food for thought, even so.
