Reading about TSS on the tampon package scared the hell out of me when I was younger. Now, it's been a couple of years since I've had physiology of the microorganism but the point is, change your tampon often. Staph aureus is on all of us but if you wash the opening of your vag in the shower and don't leave a tampon in for more than 8 hours or whatever, you'll be fine. That's also why they tell you to get the lowest absorption possible. Sure I could get a super duper maxi tampon or whatever and leave it in for a while but that's a playground for staph aureus. Oh, and I prefer tampons =) but when I had major cramping and tossing clots out like a pitcher before bc, pads ruled.
Girls do you prefer tampons or sanitary pads?
