Physically speaking, you probably like that because it puts pressure/friction on your clitoris (and other parts). I also like the thigh thing for this reason.
Socially/emotionally speaking, you do whatever the hell makes you feel good as long as your partner(s) is in on it. You like his leg between yours? Go for it.
