Girls, at what age did grown men first start to check you out?

I was ten. I'd go to a convenience store, the library, or a friends house and grown ass men would shout dumb shit like "hey sexy" or "ai mami" and make kissy noises. I started taking my dog with me everywhere and no one said anything to me after that. She had black fur, pale blue eyes, and was VERY aggressive toward people that made me uncomfortable. I miss her.
