For me the worst aspect of cheating would be the betrayal of someone's trust. Idk how people deal with the guilt and shame of being deceitful, how they face their significant other after what they've been doing behind their backs. I agree with the other commenters about a lack of communication in your relationship. Talk about it with him, try to re-connect. There are many things that can be done to spice things up.
I would imagine that people can only be unfaithful when they don't care that much about their partner any more so I don't think they suffer from guilt or shame. That comes into it more when they get caught!
I think a female going outside their marriage just for sex - should get paid for it. Go the whole hog and be a prostitute!
