    She works and pays rent. She's not short on cash, at least I don't think she is. I told her that I got her a gift before Christmas and she said no, she didn't want anything. I asked her if she got anything for me and she said not yet and I was hard to shop for.

      Maybe she doesn't really do gifts in her family or maybe she hates the commercial aspect.
      You need to be honest and tell her you felt hurt that she didn't give you anything maybe you will get an explaination. At least find out if she values your feelings before you do her.

        Nah, she told me about the gifts she bought for her parents, sisters, and sisters' boyfriends.

          I don't get it then...that's just weird. Maybe she is afraid to make you think she likes you too much? But it would bother me too.
