Yeah it's fine, I mean I'm in UK for just over half of the year and my girlfriend lives in Gibraltar, where my family lives. I probably see her six times a year, but when I do it's for quite a long period of time, and we really miss each other when we're apart. But we skype and FB quite a lot, and always have really good times when I go back there. Hope this helped. :)
