I have found most German nationals to be very rude and abrupt. I honestly don't think most intend to be, but it seems to be how their language translates to English.
When we were chartering in the Med with German guests there was always a lot of tension aboard. They would demand another drink or to have the dinghy brought around for their use, etc. without the tiniest please or thank you.
Well we can handle that; it's our job. But at the end of the week and there's still no thank you or even a modest tip, one wonders if the guests enjoyed themselves at all.
We always got good feedback from the brokers, which was triply confusing so, in the end, we just stopped booking Germans at all.
Germans and German things.
