Gelatin hot dog and egg loaf with cucumbers
So I made this, is it normal? It's a 50s recipe and it's really disgusting but I'm still eating it.

That's so bizarre I can almost believe it's fake, but people were big on using gelatine for all kinds of weird shit back in the fifties.
For anyone who's intrigued, the recipe and a video are here:

The big reveal of this glorious dish is just after the two-minute mark.
Of course what you've just eaten is finely ground pig-snouts, cheeks, and feet along with chicken ova, embedded in the extract of skin and bones of cattle. Does that make it seem tastier?
Well to be honest, pig head eating is some of the best pork eating there is. And bone, skin, and fat broths are fantastically healthy and flavorful. Gelatin is all produced naturally from animal parts being boiled then cooled.
Depending on if a really high quality, well cleaned pig is used by a proficient cook -you could be talking about making a superior head cheese or terrine, which are some of the most delicious things on the planet.
Thanks for the visual, it's so much grosser than I could ever have pictured!!! LOL
That sounds like a disgusting meal... I know people in the 50s would eat gelatinous stuff, but this is just wrong.
I get a little bit sick just thinking about your "dish"...
Tho if I was drunk af, as in 1/3 a bottle of rakia, a few beers and about a bottle of whiskey, I could eat that, but even then I'd probably get sick.
