He's clearly uneducated about homosexuals. If he is uncomfortable talking about it, then that's his business. It's an unpopular way to think nowadays, but It's normal to shun what you don't understand (though it's not a healthy way of thinking). It's understandable that you feel mad, I'd be too if someone shunned me because of some false accusation they believed. As long as it doesn't affect anything in your lives, then you can let it go.
