I don't know what that means. I just wish my folks had had more dough. Of course I have yet to meet anyone who wouldn't like to have been or wouldn't want to be more affluent.
Just means that they were excessively strict, making me work 20 hours per week at age 15 and handing over paycheck over to them to pay for tuition to a Catholic boys high school. I hated the school, and had no time left for homework. They were obsessed with their idealized perception that was not real. My interests and aspirations were simply not tolerated.
They never gave any of their children a dime. We wore handed down clothes, and were denied food for misbehaving, even though they saved 30% of income for investments. I'm not complaining about that. I'm just saying when you grow up being treated as a slave, your resentment does not fade until their funeral when you see them in their grave.

My folks didn't have the money so they made me earn it. I barely had time to study. My high school years were the worst years of my life.
