Free food, water, shelter, clothing, sanitation is a human right, iin?

Lets think about human rights particularly things you need that if you didn't have you would die, get a serious disease and/or not be able to integrate into society/suffer severe loss of dignity. Every human needs food and water first and foremost or they die or get malnutrition. It is also paramount that they have shelter, there could be imminent threats in certain areas like criminals, wild animals, coldness. It is also necessary to have clothing or you cannot leave your place of shelter or live a normal life, also you could be cold. Sanitation is another major thing e.g. Soap, toothpaste, sanitary towels, place to wash, place to go to the toilet. There are also other things...birth control, medical help, dental help...without these you could die or create unwanted life.

If we live in such a forward "civilised" society why aren't all these things freely available to all human beings?? How can anyone say you are a human being with human rights and yet you can't eat or drink water without handing over cash? Even though you'd die without these things? It should be free, shouldn't it? Via food stamps or free meals fed in a kitchen somewhere.

Is the "civilised" world fucked up or am I?

    If you were to provide all those things for yourself, then perhaps they could be free. But if you expect someone else to build the shelter, grow the food, make the clothes and clean up your shit, then why would you expect it to be free?
    Nobody is going to want to give you that stuff unless you have something to offer them.

    The old days were much better and more understandable... Food was available in the forests and you could hunt for animals ... Plus it wouldn't be hard to build shelter either especially if you had a group of people helping. It would also be easier to get help. I mean seriously whenever you watch a movie about villages and small kingdoms , life was much easier ... Food vendors spread across the street so it would be easy to snatch groceries... The only true advancement we have made is technology... The rest is just facades and labels (food labels, street labels, people labels, country labels, belief labels , etc.)

    Do you realize how damaging your suggestion is? I get paid by the government to do absolutely nothing. My house, food, TV/Internet, healthcare, even my car are paid for. I am a lazy, good for nothing, bitchy asshole with bad breath. Handouts ruin people and make them miserable in the long run.

    Get a job and stop feeling sorry for other people. Lazy people like me don't deserve any sympathy, and they don't want it either.

    In my country the less fortunates get à house, healthcare is free and so is education. Primary school children get free meals and transport is free for all students, the physically disabled and those above 60.
    Middle- class people are the new poor.

    Nothing is free. There are ways to get items you need with out spending money but it still isn't free. You either bartered for it with an item of your own or a service in return. The thought of 'free stuff' is nice, but it would never work.

    What do you offer in return for all this free stuff? Even before "civilization" and money, everyone had some sort of productive or valuable role. Slackers were probably banned or killed.

    Because people are scum, what you just said sounds like socialism to mr. Here is the problem when you have something you want to have more people are greedy just like what Oracle said in Matrix ˝What do all men with power want? More power.˝ same is with food money clothes water etc. Money controles everything without it you cant even elave your country.
