Found kindergartner’s backpack, threw in the river

I took a little kid’s backpack from a picnic table at the park cause I didn’t see anyone around, opened it and there were a couple pencils, crayons, a coloring book and graham cracker pieces so I tossed it in the river, later saw signs posted about the missing backpack. Should I feel bad because it was just a kid’s backpack laying there and I thought it was left there.

    to do list for tomorrow:
    - tear off the signs
    - look for kid's backpack on the riverbank
    - buy mom a cheap scented candle for her birthday
    - finish digging the 3'x8'x6' hole in my backyard before it starts raining
    - cook weekly beef stew
    - take a shower
