Form or function

Form or function. Car one is beautiful, and you would look great driving it, but is uneconomical to drive and is unreliable. Car two is boring and similar to most other cars on the road, but gets great gas mileage and is very reliable. Which would you buy?

  • I have to be honest here, a car doesn't make anyone look great. When I see a car that should "make one look great" all I think is how much money has gone to waste and how I myself would have spent it had it been me.

  • Why would I buy an unreliable car? Even if I was rich, I don't need this pain in the butt.

    • Exactly - and if you were rich, you could afford to buy a car with form AND function.

  • Are we talking about cars or people? If people, car 2.

  • Option 3. I buy a vintage car. Not only would it be sexy and classy, but it would be reliable. It would be the best of both worlds!

  • If I was filthy rich, I would get Car 1. But I'm not, so I would get Car 2. Even if they were the same price, I wouldn't be able to afford Car 1's upkeep, especially if it broke down or got stolen from being too shiny.

This question is pretty common sense, any particular reason you're asking?
