  • I am a type 1 diabetic on insulin injection... I take roughly 5 needles daily, one for morning, lunch, dinner, bedtime, and usually an extra to keep my blood sugars in line. I have had diabetes for 6 years now and I really don't feel that it is slowing me down, yet... I work out everyday lifting weights and have been for two years now. I am not over weight. I weigh 175 pounds at 5ft 8 in. at 9% body fat. I visit my doctor every 8 months for an extensive check up on my health.

The only time I have issues with diabetes are when my blood sugar is at or below 3.5 mmol. I rarely have a blood sugar out of the range of 4.0>9.5mmol

I find that I get nervous and sick. My vision turns strange, a blackish haze is how I can describe it. I just want to know if any other diabetic gets strange symptoms like these.

I am completing grade 12 right now and these strange occurrences frighten me during class!!!!! It doesn't help that the teachers don't understand that I cannot focus with a low or a high blood sugar, so they generally give me grief about leaving class to fix it.

Hopefully this better describes what is going on for some feed about about if it is normal!!!!!!!
