Not sure what kind of pills the above poster is talking about. Type 1 diabetics don't take pills. I really hate when people try to tell me what I can and can't eat and then I am like, I am type 1 not type 2. Ok back on topic. I think it totally normal to feel anxious or uncomfortable with lows. That's why you try to avoid them. And yes, lows are a fact of life for type 1s. Random crazy blood sugars just happen. It's not a perfect science. Now I personally feel downright normal when my sugars are good so you might want to talk to your doctor about the memory issues. Do you have a pump? It has really helped me by giving me the freedom an flexibility to live my life. What makes you feel like you can't function?
the "pills" are actually called glucose tablets and the reason why they tell you that is because are really high in carbs which with enough can send you sky high even with alot of insulin<BR><BR>yes this is normal. ive had type 1 for ten years goin onto my 11 year<BR><BR>just like lucylu said sometimes i feel "drunk" when im low and middy2k10 it is typical to feel like that one time i nearly passed out from being really low. i literally could not walk because if i even attempted to walk my knees would buckle from being so weak from the low blood sugar. luckily my neighbor saw me and carried me home (i was playing baseball with his son.)
