Well I don't have any kids, and certainly too young for kids of that age. But the idea does sound pretty kinky. I think if my sons were into it I'd go along for a try.
If your wife is that into it, and your sons are up for it and understand what's going on, I personally don't see a problem with it. It sounds like she really has a fantasy she wants fulfilled, I support her exploration.
