  • I will be the one to remind ya'll that everyone is different and some people have a harder time with addiction {including food) than others. You have not and will never be in the shoes of another person. It is just hard for me to believe that someone would just willingly subject themselves to inevitable and sometimes immediate danger, and even death, just because they are "too lazy to do something about it" or "Choosing their addiction over their life" or "lack of willpower". I think sometimes people need something more than just pure willpower. You never know what factors are at play in each situation ( like genetics or psychological stuff). That does not make them weaker than you. That does not make them lesser than you. You know who I think is the weak one? The capitalist CEO who is choosing profit over people. Choosing to not inform their customers of risks. Choosing to use the absolute cheapest ingredients available to maximize
their profits, even if they contain dangerous and adictive properties. Choosing to agressivly lobby (aka leagally bribe) lawmakers with unlimited campaign donations, shooting down any form of obesity-related health proposals. Choosing to turn massive amounts of cheap government-subsidized commodity crops (like corn or wheat) into profitible processed junk food with little to no nutritional value. Capatilism has gotten out of control in the US. PS. "Fatshaming the fatties" surely doesnt help, in fact it can cause self hatred and suicide. Try greed-shaming the greedy. Adiction is a disease but greed is just a crappy personality trait.
