Floss tastes so good?

I don't eat floss, I just put it in my mouth and then spit it out it tastes good for a while, but then tastes bad, I used to think it tastes good cause of mint because my mouth smelled like mint after tasting it but it quickly went away so is it normal or something?

Note: this isn't the first time I've put non edible objects in my mouth so I thought it was normal.
