    I googled "rubber sleeve" and it came up with a bunch of tubing for industrial uses. I doubt they really knew what it was for.

          Not really ALL of my family. Some of them get similarly shaped packages in the mail with printing on the outside saying "RUBBER INSERT"! "Note to postmaster; VIBRATIONS ARE OK"
