Females: does it hurt to use a tampon?

I'm still a virgin, and it doesn't hurt me at all. It took me a while to get the hang of it, though.

You just have to remember to relax when you insert the tampon. Once you relax so do the muscles. When I first used it, it hurt like crazy, but that's because I wasn't used to it, or put it in wrong. It will feel uncomfortable for the first few tries because you're just getting the hang of it. The worst it will ever feel is, you will just find it uncomfortable to sit down. Trust me on this though, once you've started to get the hang of interesting it, you won't even know it's there. ;)

It hurts me when I'm wearing the wrong level of absorbency on a light flow. It hurt the first time only because I put it in at the wrong angle. But otherwise I barely notice them.

No. But take into consideration that I didn't start using tampons until I lost my virginity at 18.

No, I still haven't lost my v-card and it doesn't hurt at all. It was scary the first time I used it, (and funny because I didn't know you had to take the applicator out so I used to leave it in! :O)) But it also sort of depends. If I use plastic tampons it doesn't hurt at all but if I use cardboard sometimes I can't even get it up. Also, if you use a higher absorbency than your normal absorbency, it might hurt or be hard to get in. So choose your tampons accordingly :)

It depends on your anatomy. Many women have no problems but I never used them the thought of it bothers me it seems unnatural to "plug it up"--that stuff is supposed to be coming out. My mom said she used tampons a few times and it chafed a lot and made her very sore so I don't think I wanna go there lol. I have no reason to try them, on birth control my period is very light and I can even skip it if I want (which I do).
