Things that happen to you as child have an impact. Seemingly innocuous things can mess you up for life. She wasn't complaining about something that happened several years ago, she was saying that that's when she thinks the problem started.
well with almost two decades youd think a rational person with any kinda motivation would do somethin about it
i get it shes got problems and it sucks for her
but we all got problems and its hard to take someone seriously when they fall to pieces over seeminly innocuous bullshit even though its a symptom of somethin deeper
