I've been dating my boyfriend for about 4years now. My boyfriend and I both lost our fathers when we were babies . we have very different mothers though. My mother shows tough love while his mother tells him she loves him every time they part. Long story short i am at times uncomfortable with the way they show affection around me. He often grabs her by the waist and pinch her butt when she walks past and they play fight like children. It's similar to the way we play fight when we're alone before sex. Any way I know that I am not used to too much affection because of how I was raised. But please let me know if I'm over thinking the situation .

    Some families grow up like that. My parents were more like yours and didn't care about me at all. My best friends family all laughed and joked about the things your BF does with his mom. They slap each other's butts and catchall etc. And They always sing and hug and tell each other how much love they have.... It's odd because I never was around to experience it before. Now I think it's nice and normal. I'd prefer my own kids to be that way over being left alone and forgotten for 20 years like i was
