LOL! This made me laugh so hard, sorry! You're squeezing your stomach muscles when you do sit ups, and anything like that can cause flatulence. I SUGGEST, only doing sit ups to raise the upper part of your back off the ground, not lifting your chin to your knees. This is how they're supposed to be done anyway, because any further than just a small lift stops working your stomach and uses your thigh muscles instead.
This might help subdue the farting.
ALSO, think about placing a cushion or pillow under your bum? For an extra muffled effect :)
