When I take downers for something whether its nausea or whatever I just get depressed

      slang for any one of many drugs that depresses people's activities and thoughts.

    That's to be expected. As olderdude has already said, they depress many individuals who take them. That is why they're called "downers" after all.

    If you tell your doctor about this, they might be willing to prescribe something to counteract the depressive symptoms.

    That's what downers do... is depress your activity and thoughts. If you start at normal or below normal they will indeed cause depression.
