Meh dude. I'm a douchebag and I still find people to hang out with. I do those fake things that everyone does sometimes, like don't say what I think out loud, when I know it will be hurtful or boring. That's not so bad.
When I need people to like me (at work for example) I just try to do the strong silent type and be useful. I find it real enough not to hate myself in the morning for putting out a circus show.
You have to find your own zone. If you don't have any idea how to act with people, you're introverted or shit, try to connect with people via your hobby, knowledge, facts, something that is objective, informative, interesting, but not personal.
Hell, if everything else fails, you can become a youtuber.
