I'd probably try it out just as a fun experience but I wouldn't be interested in finding a serious relationship through speed dating. Seems like a last resort to me, in that regard.
Chemistry builds upon itself, and first impressions aren't always accurate. The person you're speed dating with could have been a good match, but simply started off on the wrong foot in the 5 or so minutes given, and bam - you'll never know what you missed.
As for the people you were interested in, you may have thought everything went well, but they might have not. Same for the people you checked "no" to - they might have thought the date went amazing. It's all about perspective. You might have been outgoing but maybe they weren't looking for "outgoing". You might have been shy but maybe they weren't looking for "shy". It's more about what was compatible to them, rather than about you personally.
Ever try speed dating?
