Oh man I wish I could talk to you for hours about this. I have been alternative for years ever since I can remember i've been more attracted to walking in cemeteries then going to parks when I was young. I have been everything, emo, goth, scene, Lolita, decor, steampunk, visual kei, and many other sub ganre that only harajuku knows. First off look everything up. Goths are a HUGE ganre with hundreds of sub-sub ganre that incorporate into it. Same with emo and Lolita. There are many books that you can get off interlibrary loan so you won't have to buy it. I wish I could tell you everything, I really would, but that would be quite a long comment. Anyways alternate people look slightly for their own kind, they just look more attractive but it is EXTREMELY hard to find them, But they are there. Go to lots of concerts and talk to people. If you're lucky to even have bands come to your state (unlike Nebraska, no one comes here). But most alternates people are quite social and love life not sweat it. Just don't point out to is why we look different, we dressed ourselves this morning, we know what we look like. Good luck!
