I don't understand how feminism is more for equality than the men's rights movement. They are both somewhat slanted to either side. If you really want equality, you would support humanism. It's in the title of the movement. Human, which has no particular gender focus.
I originally felt the same about the MRA however my opinion of them became more positive after realizing that feminism, despite how irrational and one sided it is, covers women and leaves men out on the dust, even blames them for thins, so the MRAs are in response of a group for equality leaving men out.
Feminism started out as being one sided, where as thr MRM is in response to equality groups not paying attention to male issues. Lol.
I don't think humanism is what you think it is. Humanism deals more with a human/supernatural thing, rather than gender-related social issues. In all fairness, Emma did say that people should focus on the idea and concept of feminism/equality rather than the word itself and its connotations.
I've heard it referred to a few times as the alternative. Feminism and the men's right's movement tend to get a bad rap because of all the nutters out there. There are some very reasonable ones also, they're just harder to find.
