Eating disordered sister? sick brother?

I have been dating this 37 year old male who is obsessed with his sisters period and weight. She is 5'6 and 98 lbs and weighs herslef daily and they always talk about it. She glorifies herself and the family doesnt see she has an eating disorder because she claims to want to gain weight. Anyway, my BF is concerned his sister hasnt had a period in a while so he is researching it and asking her often about it. Now I know each family has their own unique boundaries, but isnt this a bit weird? I hadnt seen him for over a year and the first thing he says to me is, "my sister had a baby and two weeks after she was down to 98 again". I said, "Uh, ok". Seems odd. What do you think?

    It's normal.. He's asking his sister about her period because it's a sign of anorixea.. If u lose too much, u stop having one.

    yeah its normal hes just close to his family and is worried about his sister having an eating disordet.

    i think when the sister gets defenssive about it then he should worry anorexics are very secretive about it so maybe let him ask as an everyday question so you can tell when she gets more secretive :)

    I think it really just depends how close his family is. Obviously he cares deeply about her. It sounds like there is a true problem so he probably feels the need to confide in someone. I think it's totally normal.
