  • I'm just curious how your 13-year-old son finds a "drop dead gorgeous model" for you to date. Most kids that age can barely even work up the courage to find a date for themselves, let alone play matchmaker for dad.

    • He's not shy at all with girls, never has been. Something, I have encouraged at every opportunity, teaching him to be a gentleman and always made it point to engage girls his own age in conversation (I used to puke with nerves at the sight of a girl at 13). He makes me proud when he meets someone, even a big scary bearded bikey bloke, cos he confidently shakes their hand, says G'day and engages conversation, taking an interest in them. But he's lucky to carry his mothers genes. As a baby he looked like the home alone kid, now he hates been mistaken for justin Beaver (sometime) which was funny in northern Laos recently when a buch of village girls thought he was JB & a big photo session ensured.
In the case of my GF, he was playing with perpetual motion magnetic ornaments in a shopping centre, she was there and struck up conversation with her. I nearly fell over when he asked her to come on a date with me. now it's all a big joke between the 3 of us as he claims I am cutting his grass. There's more to the story about why he asked her but I'm sure all this is as boring as bat shit.
